A resident of Nanaimo, Shigeko Hayashi passed away at home on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the age of 65.
Once being diagnosed in 2005, Shigeko had a lengthy battle with breast cancer. She leaves behind her husband of 40 years Takaharu Hayashi. Dear mother of Shigetaka and Caroline Hayashi, Yumiko and Matthew, Takaaki and Tomitaka Hayashi. Proud grandmother to five.
The Hayashi family would like to thank all the doctors at the Victoria Cancer Agency and Dr. Lam who took care of Shigeko throughout her treatment. The family would also like to thank all the nurses and staff that helped with Shigeko’s palliative care in her final months.
At Shigeko’s request a private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shigeko can be made to the Breast Cancer Society.
