Shena, Mary Ann

Meadowcroft

Shena left this life on the 14th of August, 2016, after a brave fight with cancer.

Shena was born on the 6th of May, 1956 in Grays Esser, England, third child of Kathleen and Jimmy McNinch.

Her education spanned Belgium, England and Canada. Although her passion for teaching ballet in Canada was not realized, this did not stop her from inspiring others in the dance.

Shena would not like to admit it, but she was an inspirational spirit and soul throughout the world.

During the end of her life, Shena approached it with a humourous candor akin to any notable writer and speaker from human history.

Shena had a passion for life as shown through her creative art and her communication skills. Part of her lifes’ mission was to share experiences and to love all who wished this. A deep understanding of self helped give her an empathetic insight for others. As an intuitive councillor, her clients were so very thankful for the guidance she provided them.

No words can express the love of those who are left behind. We all miss her and take enormous pride in being able to have known her.

A grey sadness falls upon her partner Tony, brother Ian and his wife Diedre, her nephews, Eoin and Donal, and all of her aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada and England.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the wonderful palliative care unit at the Nanaimo Regional General hospital.

The funeral will be Wednesday, August 31st at 11am. Please pause for a moment of reflection if you wish.
