JOHNSON, Sara Karen, born April 29, 1939. Passed away peacefully at NRGH August 06, 2014. Sara was born and raised in the Okanagan Valley, having spent most of her life in Oliver, Penticton and Kelowna.
Predeceased by her parents, Tom and Rhona Joynson. Sara is survived by her daughter Karen Robertson, her grandchildren; Tamsen, Becky, Mark, and Amy. Sara moved to the Island 1960 to take her Teachers training at Victoria College. She returned to Nanaimo in 2006 where she lived at Hecate Lodge. Throughout her life Sara loved her cats, drawing, painting, and reading. In recent years, she very much appreciated the care she received from the wonderful staff at Malaspina Gardens.
Sara was interred in Townsite Cemetery, Nanaimo, B.C. at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014.
