April 10, 1980 – November 2, 2020
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ryan Moore, also known as Joe. He was much loved by his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, friends and caregivers.
Ryan was adopted, at a very young age, and was loved by his parents and 4 siblings. Growing up, he was sweet and tender. He loved his pets and camping with his family. He attended the Child Development Center, and was later diagnosed at Vancouver Children’s Hospital, with Prader- Willi Syndrome.
Ryan attended school, graduated from the Life Skills Program at Barsby, and for a time participated in a young people’s teen group and Special Olympic’s bowling.
Ryan was married for several years to Lisa, who was the love of his life. They had a wonderful time together and Ryan was able to enjoy many experiences, through her and her family, that otherwise had not been available to him.
Ryan lived his last years at Creekside Group Home. This is where he felt most comfortable. He was treated with kindness and acceptance here. Our family will always remember the patience and friendship shown to Ryan from Ian, Steven, Joe and all of the Creekside staff.
When it is safe to gather, our family will hold a celebration to honour Ryan and to thank him for bringing us so many funny and touching memories.
In lieu of flowers, Ryan would much rather you all had an extra serving of dessert in his memory. He would love that.
