1930-2021 ~ Rudolf (Rudy) Adam, born in MacNutt, SK in 1930, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2021 in Nanaimo, BC.
He was predeceased by his parents, Gabriel and Eleanore Adam; brothers Phillip (Martha) Adam; Fred (Evelyn) Adams; Albert (Mary) Adam, Gabe (Clara) Adams; and three sisters Minnie (Frank) Meher; Anne (Walter) Gymaloski; Marie (Will) Rabel and his daugher Victoria (Vicky).
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ida and their children, Brian (Patricia), Gladys (Colin), Peach (Karen), and Janet; 10 grandchildren (and spouses) who loved him and valued the impact he made on their lives; and, his brother Don (Lorraine) Adams.
Rudy grew up on a farm in the age of horses and walking long distances to school. He lived in all four western provinces. He worked in the military as a mechanic, drove city bus in Winnipeg, then moved to Alberta to become the Alberta Wheat Pool Grain Elevator manager in Duhamel, Hughenden, and Hayter until his early retirement in Spruce Grove. He then owned and operated Ricky's Restaurant in Abbotsford, BC with his brother, Gabe, before opening a second Ricky's in Nanaimo and a third in Campbell River.
In the last five years, as he was affected by dementia, Rudy remained the gentle and caring person that he was throughout his life. Our family is grateful for his love and he will forever hold a special place in our hearts. He is now living with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
