With heavy hearts, we announce the tragic passing of well-known Nanaimo writer and photographer Roy Ostling. Our beloved brother, uncle and friend will be deeply missed.
Left to mourn and to forever wonder why, Roy is survived by sisters Janis (Les) and Kristen, brother Erik (Deirdre), nephews Erik and Sean, niece Meg. He is predeceased by his loving parents Ruth and Wilf.
Many other friends and family will always remember his generous spirit, kind heart and good conversation.
Roy had many community involvements including the Crimson Coast Dance Society, the Qualicum Institute, the Brant Festival, and much more. His passions were photography, the outdoors, interesting people, poetry and the arts.
A celebration of Roy’s life was held on Tuesday, June 10, 3:00-5:00 pm at the Coast Bastion Inn, 11 Bastion Street, Nanaimo BC
