Also known as “Mama” to her grandchildren, and “Tookie” to her friends. Mom was born in the south end of Nanaimo on July 2, 1931 and was a life long resident. Mom passed away on March 19, 2006 surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her husband Gordon; son David and granddaughter Starleese; brothers Mickey and Jack Begoff; and sister Laura May. She is survived by daughters Diane Scott (Jim), Roseanne Deptford, Sue Paugh (Doug), and Carol Opheim (Dennis). Sons Gordon (Joanne) and Arthur, one sister Gina Venn, seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and her much loved dog, Miko. Mom had a zest for life, loved a good time and being surrounded by her family. She was an avid gardener and loved bingo, playing crib and going to meat draws. There was no service by Mom’s request. A private family gathering has been held.
