It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Rosalie. She was predeceased by her parents John and Agnes Kulai and her husband Pat Wapple.

Survived by her loving family, brother Ron Kulai (niece Rhonda), her partner Jim Goodwin and her children, Terri Thompson, Rick Douglas (Hatty), John Douglas (Lauren), her step children, Cathy Bourcier (Ron), Chris Wapple, and Brian Wapple (Leesa), her grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Natalie, Becca, Griffin, Max and Sam Douglas, Aaron and Blaire Bourcier, Jake and Brienna Wapple and great grandchildren, Jordan and Devyn Bourcier and Jackson Wideman. Also survived by her Aunt Nancy and many relatives.

Rosalie was born and raised in Nanaimo, as a teen she worked at the family business, Bond’s Fish and Chips, a Nanaimo landmark. Many will remember her as the black haired lady with the big smile and ready laugh at Terry’s Save Rite in Departure Bay.

Mom loved her golf and was a long time and honorary member of Nanaimo Golf Club, but her biggest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Nanaimo Curling Club on Friday, May 22nd at 1 o’clock.

Donations in Rosalie’s honor may be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Fund.
