Jesus said to her "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die."
Rosaleen (Rose) Gray/Merriman began her life in the presence of her Saviour on September 19, 2017.
Rose will be deeply missed by her husband of 62 years, Denzil, and her beloved sons Robert (Angela) and Paul (Evelynn).
Rose also leaves behind two long term foster children Jim & Sherry.
Rose had a very special bond with her grandkids, Joey, Jessica, Stephanie, Candice, Karina, Ricky, Kristin, Brett, Kurtis & Kailey. It was her recent joy to begin making memories with her many great grand-children.
Rose was born to Archibald & Katherine Gray at Swansea South Wales, UK on January 5, 1934.
She had three sisters, Kitty, Doreen, Eileen & three brothers, Archie, Clifford & her surviving brother Ken.
Rose loved to make music in worship to God and was seldom without her old accordion. It was on a train traveling from London to Swansea following a Billy Graham meeting, that she met the love of her life Denzil. For the next 7 decades they would serve in many ways together. They loved leading children crusades, Awana, Pioneer girls, youth functions.
Rose led the Nanaimo chapter of the Christian Women's Club, and later years they faithfully served in leading services at Nanaimo Senior Village.
Rose & Denzil immigrated to Canada in May of 1967. Leaving many dear family & friends behind, they quickly made some new life-long friends. Friendships, past & present were very important to them.
Preparing her classic roast beef dinners EVERY SUNDAY to friends & strangers was her joy.
A celebration of Life Service will be held, 1 pm, Saturday, September 30th, Departure Bay Baptist Church, 3510 Departure Bay Rd, Nanaimo.
