MERCER, RONALD W.
On October 10, 2007, in his 89th year and following a lengthy decline, a heart of gold stopped beating. Ron is survived by his loving wife Joan, daughter Donna (Rick) Steadman of Langley, son Wayne (Gail) Mercer of Cranbrook, granddaughters Laura Mercer of Calgary, Catherine Mercer of Red Deer and nieces Buryl (Bob) Confrey of Port Coquitlam and Adele Easto of North Vancouver. Ron was born in New Westminster, and married in 1951. He and Joan raised their family in New Westminster and Coquitlam, and spent their retirement years in Ladysmith - his favourite place on earth. Ron devoted his life to his family, for which we will be eternally grateful, and he leaves us with many cherished memories. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. A memorial service was held at Saint John’s Anglican Church in Ladysmith on October 14.
