June 18,1937 to July 18, 2017

After struggling with ALS, Ron passed away at 11:30 PM. - one month after celebrating his 80th birthday with a huge party. Ron attended UBC Medical School as a single parent of two young children; Stephen and Debrah. Ron was quite a genius fellow with a quick wit. Ron and two other Navy doctors started the first walk-in clinic in Canada. He was then transferred to Chilliwack where he ran the base hospital until he resigned from the Navy to go into practice in North Vancouver. After twenty-two years as a sole practitioner he joined the Caledonia Medical Clinic in Nanaimo and stayed there for three years before retiring. Ron is predeceased by his parents, sister, Joy, and daughter Debrah. Survived by his loving wife Carol (Stewart) son, Stephen, (Frances) of Australia, Son-in-law Don Osborn of Nebraska, as well as adopted family Heather King. Ron leaves to grieve his six grandchildren; Sasha, Talia, Ava, Marlowe, Charolette and Hollister A service will be held Wenesday, August 2nd at 11 AM at the Royal Canadian Legion #257, 7227 Lantzville Rd. Lanvzville, BC In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in Ron’s memory to the ALS Society of BC, 1233-13351 Commerce Parkway, Richmond, BC V9V 2X7
