In Loving Memory ~
Our hearts are broken. It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the death of Ronald Kenneth Reimer. Born February 4th, 1938, in Los Angeles, California, he passed away peacefully on February 8th, 2023 in Nanaimo, B.C.
Ron was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend who was predeceased by his parents Gus and Ella and his brother Alan. Ron leaves behind his loving wife Dolores; son Brad (wife Debbie Debuysscher, granddaughters Shelby and Taylor); and daughter Debra (husband Fred Jacklin).
Ron was an exceptional person of great intelligence who could fix anything. In his youth Ron was a flight cadet and drill instructor, and he never lost his love of airplanes, becoming known as an expert model aircraft builder in his later years.
Ron was a talented electrician who made his career at Harmac, where he practiced his trade and made many life-long friends. He had a love of motorcycles that started as an adult, and he partook in many rides with chums on his beloved Honda Goldwing. This passion for riding led him to open the shop, 'Ron's Cycle Accessories' which became a hub for friends and fellow riders. He enjoyed being active and continued to play tennis and golf until he was no longer able.
Despite his many hobbies, Ron's greatest passion was his wife and family. He will be dearly missed.
The family would like to thank Dr. King, Nurse Emma, and the extended medical community in the cardiac care unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Ron in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to B.C. Heart and Stroke Foundation in Memory of Ron Reimer.
Following the family's wishes, no services will be held.
