It is with an equal measure of sadness and relief we share with you that our father, Ron passed away on June 18th. He passed peacefully in his sleep with his son Paul by his side.
Ron was a loyal husband of 53 years to Alice Faganello and a devoted father to Ronei Evelyn Faganello (Dirk) and Paul Adair Faganello (Tara) and loving Grandmother to Kaita, Lucciano, Maxximos. He is survived by his brother Grant but predeceased by his brother Norman and his wife Alice. His dedication to his wife Alice was second to none, he proved his love to her daily.
Ron was born in Nanaimo, BC. He spent his happiest years residing for 45 years in Lantzville BC where he raised his family. For the last year and a half was lovingly cared for by the staff at Sunset Lodge, Esquimalt, BC.
As an electrical millwright for over 35 years, he was a proud member of the IBEW Union. Up to his last day he would recount the tales of working in remote towns on Vancouver Island and "pulling cable" with his workmates with the utmost of pride and joy. There was no man to rival his work ethic, positivity and sarcastic good nature. Beyond his family and friends, his next loves were hockey, baseball, golf, gardening, chopping wood and was an Olympic level lawn keeper.
We extend our gratitude to those of you that visited him, called him and supported him in his last years. His shared memories with you gave him joy right up to the end of his life. He spoke of his gratitude for a good life every single day. He was a man that always saw the cup not just half full but overflowing.
The measure of one's life maybe seen in the values and traits of their children.
We as his children and grandchildren will do our best to honour his memory by living our lives to the same high standard that he did, most notably, loyalty, honesty, compassion and kindness. Rest In Peace Dad with Mom and Angel and have a beer on us. Xo
