Roger Stacey of Nanaimo, BC

April 27, 1948 – February 7, 2017

With love and sadness we announce the sudden passing of Roger Stacey, our husband, father, and granddad. Roger passed away peacefully at home.

Roger is survived by his wife of 39 years, Judy (Hunter), son Steven (Laurie), daughter Heather, and four boisterous grandsons, Andrew, Owen, Ben, and Tyler. Roger is predeceased by his parents, Raymond (Les) and Mary Stacey.

Roger was born on April 27, 1948 in Birmingham, England to Les and Mary Stacey. Roger immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1953.

Roger served proudly as a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force before settling in Nanaimo to raise a family. Roger and his father Les owned and operated Stacey’s Bakery in Nanaimo until 1983. Roger spent the majority of his working career employed in the technology field, focusing in telecommunications.

Roger was an active member of the Nanaimo Amateur Radio Association (NARA). Countless hours were spent climbing antennas and tinkering with radios. A special thank you to Paul Giffin and NARA for their friendship and support over the years.

A celebration of life will be held for family and close friends at Sands Funeral Chapel on February 11, 2017. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC are appreciated.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
