ROGER BRIAN MOVOLD

Roger Brian Movold born August 28th, 1943 of Nanaimo, BC passed away suddenly on August 16, 2016 at the age of 72. Professional Electrical Engineer and University of Alberta Alumni Roger worked for BC Hydro for 24 years before retiring in1998. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Patricia, daughter Dawn (Jan) Borrelli, sons Bill (Deanna) and Derek (Lindsay) and grandchildren Bryan, Marissa, Colin, Alexander and Makena. Those who were fortunate enough to know him well saw that past his tough exterior was a loving, soft hearted and loyal man. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He would claim openly to not like animals only to be found minutes later curled up on the couch with one of the family pets sneaking them tasty treats and had a not so secret taste for treats of his own. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it was skiing, snowmobiling, waterskiing, or camping, as long as it was with family. He loved sports especially football and hockey and coached all of his children’s hockey teams at some point. Being a member of the Lions Club of Hudson’s Hope BC, the Vancouver Electric Vehicle Association, a hockey and baseball coach and volunteer with Scouts Canada, Roger donated countless hours of his time. He was dedicated husband, father, grandfather, coach, teacher and mentor and he will be missed.

No public service will be held only a private family event. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. Information on how to donate can be found at www.alzheimer.ca.
