McKenzie, Roderick Colin "Rod" passed away peacefully at Vancouver General Hospital on November 18. He is survived by his son Martyn (Pam Smith), daughter Maria (Marc Baragar), all of Vancouver, sister Kay Sharpe of Port Alberni, brother-in-law Frank (Joy) Death of Jupiter, Florida and surviving nieces and nephews in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Rod was born in Nanaimo in February 1928 to Benjamin and Alice McKenzie, the youngest in his large family. He moved to Vancouver in November 1954 and in August 1956 he and Shirley were married. They moved to their home in Vancouver upon their return from their honeymoon and they lived there for the rest of their lives. Martyn and Maria made the family complete. Rod obtained his CGA designation in 1963 and worked at BC Electric/BC Hydro from 1960 until his retirement in 1988.

He loved working in the garden, mystery novels, woodwork, ice cream and watching his favourite TV shows. Thank you to the staff at South Granville Park Lodge for making his last months more enjoyable.

Inurnment has taken place. Donations to the charity of your choice if you wish. Rod loved Maria and Marc's beagles and would have been delighted by donations to beaglepaws.com. Details of a memorial service to follow.
