September 27, 1950 - July 19, 2020
Bob passed away suddenly on July 19, 2020; which came as a shock to close family and dear friends who loved him dearly. He was the youngest son to John "Jack" and Evelyn High.
Bob was a true Nanaimo boy - born, raised, schooled and worked in Nanaimo all his life. He worked for the BC Ferries close to 40 years before an injury put him to early retirement. He loved life no matter what and would give you the shirt off his back for you if he knew that you needed it more than him.
He loved his family especially his brother in law Don Scott, niece Dawn Scott, nephew Dan Scott, great nephew Nate Scott, great nieces Teanna and Yvonne Scott. His cousins who helped him out through the years from food to add-ons to his tiny home - Wayne Dunbar and Elizabeth McGrath, Bill and Wayne Hawthornthwaite.
Close family friend Monica Briggs who was more than a family friend, more like a second sister to him.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Jack and Evelyn High, his brothers Roger and Andrew "Andy" High. As well the most recent passing of his sister Gwen Scott (nee High). He is survived by three grandchildren Dylan, Ian and Kara High. Including his daughter Barbara and son Henry High.
