Bob left us suddenly on January 8, 2009 at Peace Arch Hospital after a brief illness. Bob was predeceased by his first wife Emma, his sister Marjorie and his brother Ed. Left to mourn are his wife Fay, sons Robert (Cheryl) and Brian (Elly) and daughter Trish (Darcy); Fay’s sons Neil (Michele) and Bob (Carolyn) and daughter Laura; grandchildren Jesse, Megan (Kiel), Wesley, Gemma, Jeff (Kristen), Tanya, Jay, Brody, Holly and Graeme and his brothers Gil, Jack and Bill.

Bob was born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan on May 24th, 1928 and later moved with his family at the age of four to the Interior of British Columbia (Lumby, Vernon) where he grew up. He moved to the Coast as a young man and became active in the logging and forest industry where he held various positions with MacMillanBloedel and later with CIPA Lumber Company where he retired as Vice President and General Manager in 1994. In retirement Bob devoted himself to his family and remained very active. He took great pleasure in his garden, his friends, golf and lawn bowling.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Drs Rudnik, Turner, Perlman and Scott as well the staff of the ICU at Peace Arch Hospital for the incredible care they provided to Bob as well as to the family all through the course of his illness.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 – 28 Avenue, Surrey BC on Saturday, January 17th at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
