Riglar, Robert Fraser
passed away June 5, 2006, aged 86 years. Predeceased by brother George, sister-in-law Margurette, brothers-in-law Ken King, Jim Johnston, & Harold Burnett and son Const. Christ Riglar, R.C.M.P. Robert is survived by his wife of almost 63 years Rosemary; daughter Rosemary (Gerry) Shires; grandson Kevin (Lori)) Shires; granddaughter Nicole (Bruce) Adams; great-grandchildren Corey & Emily Shires; Cindy, Kevin & Neil Adams; sisters Helen King, Connie Riglar, sister-in-law Sheila Johnston & Doris Burnette, many nephews, nieces, great nephews & nieces in Ontario, Quebec, England, Scotland, France & BC. Robert served in the Medical Crop during WWII. The family moved to Nanaimo in 1951. Bob worked for Harmac from 1951 to 1982 as an instrument tech and head of department. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 256 and the Lions Club. For many years he sang in the Minstrel Show. His greatest passions were fishing, working, his grandchildren & great-grandchildren, and his adopted animals. He will be greatly missed by all his family & friends. Sincere thanks to Lakeside Gardens, the Paramedics, and the nurses and doctors at NRGH Emergency and special thanks to Dr. Calvin. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 9th, 2006 at 2:00PM in the chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory to the S.P.C.A. would be appreciated.
