In loving memory ~
Robert (Bob) Korsvoll passed away on January 7, 2023, after a short battle with cancer.
He is remembered fondly by his wife of 62 years, Barbara; children Bruce (Lynn), Shelley (Dave), Sandy (Mike); grandchildren, Nicole, Ashtyn, Stephanie, Robyn, Tamara, Hannah, Sophia; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Bob was born in Chemainus in January 1939 and then moved to Nanaimo with his mother in 1950, where he met and married Barbara a decade later. They remained in Nanaimo where they raised their family.
Bob began his working career with Reg Dorman Trucking and eventually started RN Korsvoll Contracting in the mid 70s, building logging roads up and down the coast. Bob and Barbara moved to Qualicum Beach and later to Nanoose Bay.
In his spare time Bob loved camping, (with special camping families), boating, vacationing in Hawaii, cruising and eventually Snowbirding in Yuma, Arizona. He also enjoyed trips with Barbara to visit family in Norway, Sweden and Finland.
Shortly after retiring at 54, Bob bought a motorcycle and they covered over 1 million miles through Canada and the US up until they stopped riding just a few years ago.
Those who were closest to him will always remember him for his hard work, unwavering reliability, honesty and passion for keeping his windows spotless.
Bob said, “if I had a bucket list there would be nothing left on it”. He felt very fortunate for the great life that he had with Barbara and his family.
In acknowledgment and respect for Bob’s request, no formal Memorial Service will be held.
