August 30, 2003

DYSON — Robert (Bob) Julian.

With loving family by his side, Bob passed away peacefully at home in Nanaimo on his 74th birthday, August 30, 2003, after a short battle with cancer. Born August 30, 1929 in Terrace, BC, Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joan, daughters; Lesley Domino (Kirk), Cynthia (Harold) and Susan (Mark); three grandsons; Randall, Jarod and Wil; brother, Peter, and sister, Joan. He is predeceased by sister, Wendy, and brother, Jack. Bob grew up in Vancouver, BC, apprenticing as a carpenter in his early twenties. He spent his career in the construction industry as a Project Inspector for the Government of BC and as a Maintenance Supervisor for both the Williams Lake and Nanaimo school districts. He was a Past President of the School Plant Officials Association of BC. He retired in Nanaimo in 1990. Bob spent his retirement years indulging in his love of golf, as a member of the Nanaimo Golf Club, "RV"ing with Joan throughout North America and spending time with his grandchildren. Bob is fondly remembered for the care and concern he showed for his family, his willingness to help whenever needed, and his unique sense of humour. The family wishes to thank the health care providers who helped care for Bob over the past three months and to all who provided support and comfort during his illness. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Friday, September 5 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 100 Chapel Street, in Nanaimo. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are welcomed.

Rest in peace, Dad.

We will always remember

you with love.
