Reginald John Stefan Wieczorek passed away Friday, May 27th at Chilliwack General hospital at the age of 68. Born in Salzgitter Germany in a work camp just after WW2 to parents Stanislaw and Stefania Wieczorek, he immigrated to Canada as an infant. He grew up in Toronto and graduated from Royal York Collegiate Institute and went on to attend Ryerson University. Becoming a Civil Technician and then Engineer, he married and moved to Nanaimo in 1972 where he raised his daughter Stephanie. He spent 14 years in Nanaimo before moving back to Toronto and then Ladner, BC before eventually settling in Chilliwack where he has spent the last 16 years. He loved fishing, driving in his truck and, most of all, his family. Reg was pre-deceased by his son Clifford and is survived by his daughter Stephania (Aaron), brothers Ted (Susan) and Ed (Andrea), grandchildren Duncan and Katsumi, nieces Madeleine, Emily and Alana and nephews Daniel and Andrew. A memorial open house will be held from 1:30pm to 4:30pm Saturday, June 4th at #22-6450 Blackwood Lane, Chilliwack for all who wish to remember Reg. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
