Jacobson, Ralph R.W.
Passed away November 1, 2005 after a long struggle with cancer. He was the second son born to Eli and Anna (Lindwall) Jacobson. On November 1,1951 he married Iona Danielson and they were blessed with three children. He was an active Wheat Pool and Co-op member. He served as director and president of the Stockholm Credit Union from 1968 to 1983. He coached minor baseball and was a cub scout leader and took particular interest in these boys through the years. He and Iona built their lakefront retirement log home at Round Lake, moving in to it in 1982. In 1983 he helped instigate the forming of the resort village of West End and was on council until 1989 when he was elected mayor and served in that position until he moved to B.C. in 2003. He was a member of New Stockholm Lutheran Church and served on council. He enjoyed reading, sports and was an avid golfer in his later years. He was a "man of the earth" and will be remembered always. Left to mourn his passing are his lifetime partner Iona, daughter Patricia (Per),sons Kelton (Lori), Robbin (T.C.) grandchildren Ryan Lee, Ryan Eric, Conrad, Neil, Jen., Tari, Monika, Jenni, Angie, Nephews Jim (Dawn) and Cam Jacobson, brother-in-law Danny (Jo), numerous neices nephews and cousins. A service of worship and celebration of his life was held Sataturday, Nov. 12 at New Stockholm Lutheran Church, Stockholm, Saskatchewan with Pastor B.N. Paul officiating. Urn bearers were grandsons Ryan, Conrad and Neil. Interment was in the New Stockholm Lutheran Church cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Carscaddens Funeral Services, Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. Donations may be made to the New Stockhom Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
