On 3 July 2016, our red-haired angel, Penney Catherine Bordeleau, flew from this earth after a brave battle with ovarian cancer. Penney is survived by her loving husband, Tim Bordeleau, originally of Port Alberni, BC, whose successful business she supported, and together they built their beautiful home in Nanaimo, BC. Penney is also survived by her father Ted Greig, sisters Lisa and Cheryl, and her brother Jeff. Penney’s bright smile, great sense of humour, love for life, music, travel, and good food and wine will always be fondly remembered and cherished by all her family, friends and anyone who had the pleasure to meet her. In the words of one of Penney’s favourite artists, Carole King: “When you’re down and troubled, and you need some love and care, And nothing, nothing is going right, Close your eyes and think of me, and soon I will be there, to brighten up even your darkest night”. Penney’s family wishes to thank the incredible care and support provided by all the Doctors,nurses and volunteer staff of the Palliative Care unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital throughout Penney’s last days. At Penney’s request, there will be no memorial service held.
