Passed away April 27th, 2008 after a short battle with cancer. Bill lived all of his 81 years in Nanaimo, never wishing to live anywhere else.

Predeceased by his wife Isabelle in 1997 and his brother Allan (Butch) in 2007.

Bill is survived by his daughter Sandra (Gwyn), son Edward (Cheryl) and sister Emily Leblonde as well as grandchildren Davina, Brandon, Michael, Carlee, Darla, Sean and Ryan.

Bill held numerous jobs over his lifetime, including working for the Pacific Biological Station, and plumbing both residentially and commercially. Bill spent his happiest years commercial fishing up and down the West Coast of British Columbia. He was a long time member of the Elks Lodge as well as a member of the Branch 10 Legion and spent many years at the Nanaimo Curling Club.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at an open house at his son’s home on May 11th from 1:00 to 4:00 at 5770 Kerry Lane, Nanaimo, B.C.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
