Suddenly on Monday, March 9, Pat passed away peacefully at her home in Nanaimo. Pat grew up in Rosser, Manitoba and went to school in Winnipeg. Pat married Art in 1957 and they lived in Toronto before moving their family to Winnipeg in 1972. They retired to Nanaimo in 1989 where they met many new friends through square dancing and other activities. Pat thrived on the friendship and support she found in her Nanaimo community, playing cards and meeting up for coffee. Pat was an avid traveler and enjoyed seeing many parts of the world.
Pat is predeceased by her husband Art in 2012. Left to cherish her memory are her children Lori (Shauna), Christine, and Michael (Wendy); her grandchildren Lee, Marie (Caleb), Conor (Isadora), She was especially happy when her great grandchild, Kezia, was born this past summer. Also mourning Pat's passing are her cousins, many nieces and nephews and their families. Pat was blessed with many deep and lasting friendships, notably her friends of 70+ years, Irene and Bernice. A private family service is being held this week. Friends and neighbours are invited to celebrate Pat's life at her home on Saturday March 14th, from 2 till 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Pat's name to a charity of your choice.
