Patricia Eileen Connolly

Mrs. Patricia Eileen Connolly, daughter of the late Ken and Eileen Daniels, died peacefully on November 21, 2019, surrounded by family, at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. She is survived by loving husband Dave Connolly, brother Harold (Linda), sons Ken (Wendy) and Jay (Maureen), grandchildren Jack, Daniel, Sam, Kate, and Adam, and great-grandchildren River, James, and Isaiah. She was predeceased by daughter-in-law Paddy.
Born October 18, 1934, Pat attended public schools in Vancouver, but left school early to take a job at Vancouver City Hall. She later returned to night school to complete her high school diploma.
Pat married David Rymer Connolly on September 29, 1956, and supported her new husband through a variety of assignments with Bogardus Wilson Glass Company, until the couple purchased Northern Glass and settled in Dawson Creek, B.C. in 1960.
In addition to jobs in accounting, sales, and customer service in the family business, she worked for the Provincial Government, Imperial Oil, and the City of Vancouver. A life-long volunteer, Pat gave time to the Hospital Auxiliary, Anglican Church women, the Canadian Cancer Society, Rotary International, Hospice, Loaves & Fishes, Boy Scouts Canada, and many other organizations. She was active for many decades in the Anglican Church, contributing time and support to St. Mark's (Dawson Creek), St. Michaels' (Kelowna), and St. Philip's-by-the-Sea (Lantzville). She was also a member of Probus Nanaimo.
The measure of her life may be seen in the values of her family and in lasting friendships with people near and far. She believed in love, kindness, acceptance, and compassion, and she bound our family with light, love, and laughter.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Philip's-by-the-Sea at 1 pm on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Nanaimo Community Hospice, 1080 St George Crescent, Nanaimo, BC V9S 4P3, or Loaves and Fishes Food Bank, 210 Fry Street, Nanaimo, BC V9R 4Z1.
