It's with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, grandpa great grandpa, brother , friend and mentor to so many.
Norm, "Teeker" was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to Dalton and Pearl McNabb and raised in Big River. Our dad had many adventures throughout his life and had many stories to tell.
He will be remembered as a fearless entrepreneur, ready and willing to try any new venture, lover of hockey and giving his time freely to coach many young and up and coming players. He loved his politics and would give a good argument on Facebook if he had to. His family and friends were the world to him.
Our dad loved hockey and played in Saskatchewan for many teams. He met the love of his life Edna Sundby, and they eventually moved their 6 kids to Nanaimo in 1969.
Norm came to Nanaimo to manage Sun Glo Home Improvement and later bought it and operated the family business where all his family worked. He eventually got into land development and until his passing you could find him at the office everyday doing his word find and it was a open door to many to come and chat.
Norm had a big heart and gave generously to many charities and people in need world wide. He loved to golf and was a member of the Nanaimo golf course.
Norm was predeceased by his wife Edna of 67 years just 5 months ago. His broken heart will be complete now that he's joined mom. He leaves behind his children Darcy (Al) Lance (Dawn) Shelley ( Clarence) Terry (Linda) Tanis ( Rod) Gwen( Derick ) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There is a big void in our lives but we have many memories to keep close. Dad said in his last few days that he wanted us 6 siblings to continue to stick together and love one another.
We will miss our card games, and unconditional love you gave us all. Rest In Peace until we meet again.
