Norman M. Holmes

August 26, 1926 ~ January 24, 2016

Norm is survived by Eleanor, his loving wife of 58 happy years.

He was the last member of his generation in his English family.

He is survived by his late brother’s sons, Bill and Frank, and their families; his late sister’s daughter Susan and her family, his late nephew John’s widow Peggy, and their family; his late niece Beryl’s three children and their families.

Norm had a close relationship with Eleanor’s family and is survived by his beloved brother-in-law Ray, his wife Margit, and son Ray Jr.; his late sister-in-law June’s husband Peter and his family; and his late sister-in-law Janet’s daughters, Donna and Beverly, and their families.

Norm was born and educated in Liverpool, England. in 1943 he started his life-long career in Electrical Engineering with Liverpool Automatic Telephone Co.

He served two years with the RAF, Mainly in occupied Japan.

He was recruited and emigrated to Montreal, Canada, in 1950.

He worked in the aircraft industry employed by Aviation Electric Co.

He moved to Toronto in 1969 and worked in the electric industry and

was employed by Commander Electric Co. as plant manager.

In his career he was highly regarded by management and fellow workers.

Norm and Eleanor moved to B.C. in early 1988 to enjoy their retirement and year round golf.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
