Nick passed away peacefully on April 6th, 2020 at Nanaimo Hospital, age 71.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Cherie, high school sweetheart of 52 years; son Dean; daughters Nicelle (Drew) DePatie and Candace; grandchildren Kaiden, Kenadee and Matteo; siblings Bob (Deri), Jim (Sandy), Joanne (Jim) and David, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Rose (2018) and Steve (1994).
Born and raised in Nanaimo, Nick will be remembered by many as a devoted, hardworking family man. He had a love for music and from a young age picked up the guitar/bass and played in the band the "Invaders." Many artists were his favourite but he was mostly known for his passion for Elvis and the oldies.
He worked many years for CPRail and later, EN Dayliner. He also volunteered as a firefighter and soccer coach. He loved to fish, garden, bowl, make wine, and Cherie's cooking, but most of all he loved his family. He was known for his soft, gentle, compassionate heart of gold and will be deeply missed.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a celebration of life and interment will be at a later date.
