Myra Elizabeth Kemp


Myra passed away peacefully in her home with friends and family at her side on July 19, 2010 at the age of 76. She was born in Taylorton, Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her parents William and Leah (Molyneux) Redwood, her siblings: Florence Johnson, George Redwood, Evelyn McSephney, Mildred Mills, Francis Goudy, Freda Redwood and her husband, Andy Kemp.

Myra is survived by her daughter, Donita (Greg) Roblin; their children: Stacie, Tyson, Toni and Chantelle of Pierson, MB; her son Stan of Calgary, AB; her sister Minnie Wanner of Estevan, SK and numerous nieces and nephews. Myra was very involved with the Nanaimo Bowen Park Seniors where she served for many years as Treasurer of the bowling league. She was an expert Carpet Bowler and also volunteered her time preparing tax returns for the seniors. Her love of gardening and fellowship with her brothers and sisters in Christ played an integral role in her day to day life.

A graveside service will be held at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens on Saturday, July 24th at 12:00 p.m. where she and her husband, who passed away on September 13, 2006, will be interred. A lunch and time for sharing and celebration of Myra's life will follow (approx 1:30 p.m.) Nanaimo Church of Christ at 1732 Merideth Road. Donations in Myra's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Vancouver Island Lodge, 2202 Richmond Rd., Victoria, BC V8R 4R5
