In Loving Memory of

Muriel Joyce Lowe - nee Roker

October 31st, 1924 - August 29, 2016

Muriel was the widow of Jim Wellington Lowe of Ontario. She is survived by her only daughter Valerie Hounsome, and son-in-law, Jim Turner of Nanaimo. Her 3 grown grandchildren, James & Jeff Hounsome, and Adrienne McLellan, and her 6 great-grandchildren, (Anita & Stephanie Hounsome in Ontario, Ryley & Savanah Hounsome in Nanaimo, and Ashley & Corey McLellan also in Nanaimo) and their families will miss her greatly. From her late sister Cynthia Lowe, Muriel has 8 nieces and nephews and their families in Ontario who were very close to their aunt.

Muriel loved writing poetry and would tell great stories of the good ol’ days. It wouldn’t be a story without a good joke thrown in... Muriel has a wonderful sense of humour.

Muriel was a strong, independent woman with a religious background. She had many friends and really enjoyed her life.

Towards the end of her life, Muriel was living at Dufferin Place Extended Care Facility, in Nanaimo. She made some wonderful new friends that will miss her dearly. Our family is grateful to the staff that were so helpful and compassionate. They went above and beyond with personal caring. We would also like to thank Dr. Fletcher of Qualicum.

A funeral service was held at the Church of the Nazarene September 7th, 2016.

Muriel will always be in our hearts.

Rest in Peace.
