With love and sorrow, the Lee family announces the passing of Mildred (Mim) Lee on Oct. 2nd, 2020. Although born in Vancouver, Mim happily lived most of her life in Nanaimo, where she raised her family with husband, Mel, and supported and participated in numerous community organizations, including the Ladies Auxiliary to the Harewood Firemen.
Always a keen creator of crafts, including sewing, knitting, crocheting, canning & preserving, she went on to win many prizes at The Vancouver Island Exhibition for her domestic entries. And always bringing great enthusiasm to her activities, later in life she took on lawn bowling with a passion and spent many happy years playing in tournaments and making good friends.
At 98, Mim acknowledged having a good life and said she wouldn't have changed a thing. Even as she was declining, at Point Grey Private Hospital in Vancouver, she was grateful to her caregivers and continued her positive outlook.
Mim's children, Patricia (Ed), Peter, John ( Karen), Leanna ( Don) and grandchildren, Jennifer, Maria, Alesha, Cory, Tara and Jason say a loving farewell to a well-lived woman. A family event to celebrate Mim's life will be held in the Spring.
