It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Michael Patrick Korney, on July 20, 2018 after the courageous fighting Irish battle of cancer.
He is predeceased by his Dad, Michael Korney; Mom, Roberta Korney; and a variety of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Michael is survived by his Children, Tyler Korney (partner Mia), and Maria Korney; his Brother, Bruce Korney (partner Kim); his sister Karen Woodburn (husband Kevin); nephew Brewster Woodburn (wife Courtney and daughter Ava); niece Natalie Woodburn; Special Aunt Minnie Haggerty; his Favorite Favorite cousin Terri Harper; other favorite cousins, and of course all of his Friends. Michael will be deeply missed by all of Us.
A special Thank You goes out to the nurses and staff at the Nanaimo Cancer Clinic.
A celebration of Michael's life will take place on Sunday, August 26, 2018, 11:30 - 3:00 PM at the Nanaimo Golf Club, 2800 Highland Boulevard, Nanaimo.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Michael's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Wheels for Wellness, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
