March 5, 1960 - June 9, 2014
With great sadness we announce Michael passed away unexpectedly on June 9th, 2014. He is now reunited with his wife Linda, and son Matthew. He is survived by his 5 children, 11 grandchildren, his father, siblings, and many friends and family.
Michael was a great dad, a loving and devoted husband, and a kind and generous man. He spent his professional life working on tugboats as a deckhand, first mate, and even eventually earned his Captain’s ticket. He not only worked on tugboats, but he had an incredible love of the sea. He loved fiercely and was loved fiercely in return, he will be missed. Funny, quick witted, supportive, and creative, Michael had a passion for his family, cooking, gardening, football, and music; he loved a good rock show. Michael liked to live life out loud!
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Friday July 11th, 2014 from 3pm to 5pm at the Moose Hall (1356 Cranberry Ave, Nanaimo). People are invited to stay into the evening to continue celebrating Michael in the hall’s lounge.
