Michael John Lunn

Aug. 8, 1952 ~ April 30, 2014

On the morning of April 30th, the Lunn family tragically lost a husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle and friend.

These were roles that he filled with laughter, helpfulness and love.

Michael was born in Victoria to Eileen and Nic Lunn.

The one boy in the middle of 7 sisters: Carol, Linda, Pam, Tere, Nicki, Dawn & Holly.

Mike worked at the Starlight Drive-In where he met and later married his sweetheart Marlene (Helm) in 1970.

Three children followed Marc (wife Kendra), Mitchel (Ashley) and Marcy.

Of course the grandchildren followed them, 7 in total... Paige, Dion, Carter, Joshua, Janae, Krishna and Brayden.

Mike was employed at Western Forest Products in Nanaimo for the last 34 years.

He was the plant chairman of the mill for the last 30+ years and loved the challenge of defending the contract and representing what was right.

He was looking forward to completing his 35th year before retiring with Marlene to enjoy the camping and traveling that they had both dreamed about.

The friends and family that will miss Mike are too numerous to list in this space. You know who you are and how important you were to him! That’s what he was all about!

A Celebration of Life will be held May 10, 2014 at 3:00pm at Generations Church, 1300 Princess Royal Avenue, Nanaimo. Refreshments to follow.

Mandatory attire is a RED T-SHIRT or anything RED!

A website is under construction for the “Red Shirt Foundation” to bring awareness of workplace violence and in effort to move “Pain to Purpose”.
