Michael A. Dimozantos
September 2, 1943 - September 30, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael A. Dimozantos on September 30, 2017.
Born in Khartoum, Sudan, on September 2, 1943, Michael immigrated to Canada in 1968 after obtaining his B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK.
Michael started his career with Ontario Hydro in its Nuclear Power Generation Division in 1968 until his voluntary early retirement in 1993, having attained the position of Electrical Design Engineer-Specialist in the Darlington Nuclear Power Generation Department.
From late 1996 to early 1998, he worked as expert advisor to Klohn Crippen Consultants on a Risk Analysis Study for BC Hydro.
He is dearly missed by his wife Maria, children Marina, Demetrios and Markos, granddaughter Ashley, sisters Stella, Georgia, Anthippie and Etty.
He has left us to join his predeceased parents Ambrosios and Christina, brothers Michael and Anastasios, sister Evangelia and his much cherished dogs, especially Regal, Toby and Jessie.
Viewing at First Memorial Funeral Home, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo, between 10 and 11 on Thursday, October 5, 2017, followed by Funeral Service, Graveside Service, and refreshments after.
