Blasutig, Maureen
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen Blasutig (nee Martin) on Jan. 4, 2016. Maureen was born Sept. 9, 1928 in Sexsmith Alberta to Margaret and Albert Martin. The family moved to Nanaimo in 1941 and she has resided here since. Maureen married Joe Blasutig Nov. 11, 1953.
She is survived by her loving husband Joe, her children, Mike (Barbara), Val Carver (Murray), Mark and grandchildren Dustin (Jade), Jenna and Meghan. In addition to being a very active mother, Maureen worked for BC Tele, Meyers Holland Ford, J&G Electric and Island Radiators over the years. She will be remembered for her wonderful Saturday night dinners with friends and family, sunny days around the pool and the love and pride she had in her grandchildren.
