Marylyn E. Lightburn

The Lightburn family is sad to announce the passing of Marylyn Ellen Lightburn (nee SOLES), of Cedar, BC. After a long and courageous fight with cancer, Marylyn passed on Friday, March 5, 2010, at NRGH palliative care unit. Survived by loving husband Jack Lightburn (married 54 yrs); sons: Richard (Jaclyn), Jerry (Leesa), Wes; grandchildren: Buddy, Jessica, Jeffery and great granddaughter Cassidy; brother, Andrew Soles (Ethel) of Prince George and many nephews and nieces. She was born September 16, 1936, in Vancouver, BC, to Wesley and Olivine Soles.

Marylyn’s passion was gardening and sewing. She worked for 14 yrs in hospitality services, in the cafeteria at Harmac Pulp and Paper Mill. Marylyn volunteered for the 808 Thunderbird RCAF Wing Ladies Auxiliary.

The family would like to send a grateful thank you to the wonderful people at the Palliative Care Unit of NRGH. A reception will be held Sunday, March 21, 2010, from 1 pm to 3 pm, at the 808 Wing Lounge, 719 Nanaimo Lakes Rd, (Military Base). Please in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Foundation or the NRGH Palliative Care Unit.
