LETOURNEAU, Mary Patricia
Passed away peacefully on January 12, 2009 at Mountain Lakes Seniors Community in Nelson, BC. Born at Leeds, Yorkshire, England in 1924, Pat was the only child of Clifford and Alice Brown. Pat served with the ATS (the women’s branch of the British Army) during the second World War where she met her Canadian husband, Dorcy Letourneau who served with the RCAF. They married in England and Pat emigrated to Canada as a British War Bride. Pat had an engaging smile, sparkling eyes and she loved to go dancing on Saturday night. Dorcy and Pat raised three daughters in Edmonton, Alberta before retiring to Saltair, Vancouver Island. Pat loved cocker spaniels, music, art and cooking for her family. She will be remembered by many for her fantastic homemade bread and pastries. And if you were lucky, you got on the list to receive one of her wonderful hand knit sweaters. Predeceased by her husband Dorcy, Pat is survived by daughters Dale Letourneau and Daena McGuire of Duncan, BC, and Susanne Morris of Nelson, BC; and her grandchildren, Eli, Vanessa, Sarah, Katie, Laura, Ben and Lindsay.
