Born in Ellisboro, Saskatchewan; a resident of Nanaimo for 75 years, passed away with family by her side June 4, 2011.

Predeceased by her infant daughter Diane in 1948; husband Walter in 1990 and 10 brothers and sisters.

Mary is survived by her loving family; son Ray Scarsbrook (Lynn) Nanaimo; daughters Margaret De Hart (Bill) Parksville, Lynda Milton (Wayne) Coquitlam; grandsons Jim De Hart (Darlene) Campbell River, Rick De Hart, Port Moody, Kevin Scarsbrook, Nanaimo; granddaughters Sheri Gauthier (Zane) Nanaimo, Kim Coulson (Gord) Nanaimo; great grandson Brandon De Hart, Waterloo, great granddaughters Alicia De Hart, Edmonton, Ava Gauthier, Nanaimo; sister Ella Jeffs (Ted) Nanaimo, brother-in-law Gordon McDonald, Merritt and numerous family and friends.

Mary was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church and very active with the United Church Women’s group.

The family would like to thank Dr. Neil Rogers for his years of care and also to the extra special care workers and nurses at cottage #1 Wexford Creek.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 311 Fitzwilliam St., on Sat. June 11th at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, if you so wish, donations to St. Andrew’s Church, “in memory of Mary”, would be greatly appreciated. Rev. Bert Ramsey officiating.
