Coles, Mary Elisabeth

Mary Elizabeth Coles, (nee Berrow), 85, of Nanaimo, BC passed away peacefully in her sleep September 28, 2016 at Dufferin Place.
Born in Duncan on March 16,1931 to Jack and Beryl Stewart, Mary was raised in Cowichan Bay where she was first introduced to what would be become her lifelong passions – gardening and pets.
Retiring from N.R.G.H. after her career as a Ward Clerk, Mary enjoyed spending countless hours with her grandchildren, sewing and walking her dogs in Bowen Park.
Predeceased by her first husband Syd, husband Bill and son Steven. She is survived by her sons Carl (Janet), Cameron (Mandy), daughter Jaye, grandchildren, Leland, Bodrie, Jackson, Jordan, Carter and Lucas, great grandchildren, McRae, Riley, Ashlee and Everly.
Per Mary’s request there will be no funeral service. A private family celebration of life will be held in lieu.
Mary’s family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Dufferin Place for the warm & thoughtful care they provided in her last years.
