Marvin Gordon "Marv" Worden

December 7, 2017

May 26, 1942 - Dec 7, 2017
Marvin Gordon "Marv" Worden was born May 26th, 1942 in High Prairie, Alberta, to John Gordon and Ethel May(Berry) Worden. Marv passed away peacefully December 7th, 2017 with his family at his side, after a long negotiation with Parkinson's Disease.

Teacher, musician, actor, director, writer, composer, painter, craftsman, coach, volunteer, friend- there were hats of all shapes and sizes worn by Marv throughout his colourful life, but none more important than those of husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle.

His creativity and enthusiasm were contagious; his strength and determination in later years were an inspiration to us all. Marv genuinely cared for people; he believed in them and saw goodness in everyone. He was loved in return.

Predeceased by his mother, Ethel May, in 1948, and his father, Gordon, in 1995, he will be remembered by his bride of 51 years, Carrol, his children Lee (Terri), Tara, and Corey (Sarah), brother Chas (Sandy), much-adored grandchildren Kiana, Jake, Rachael, Lily, Jack, and Milo, his Lundgren family, best buddy Pat Franklin, and many, many extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Marv's Life will be held on Saturday, January 13th at Cavallotti Hall, 2060 East Wellington Road, beginning at 2:00 PM.

Musical guests are encouraged to bring their instruments and join us for an afternoon jam following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Society British Columbia, or to Literacy Central Vancouver Island.
