They were married September 1, 1953 for 49 years in a life full with family, friends, hard work, and many and varied adventures. Ed is also predeceased by his sister Astrid.

Ed was born on September 22,1928 in Prince George, BC to Martin and Karyn, who moved to Canada from Stockholm, Sweden. Ed lived a life rich with family and friends. His family meant the world to him and he enjoyed sharing his love of camping, boating, fishing, all things Swedish, Cadillacs and other nice cars, playing Crib, and later Scrabble with us. He especially loved a good game of Cheat with his Grandkids! Dad knew the joy and importance of friendship and so many have been important to him over the years. All his coffee buddies were especially dear to him in his later years.

Dad always saw the glass as “half full.” His appreciation and respect for life was reflected daily in his industry. He was always filling his time with projects. From building some of our family homes, boats, repairing anything and renovations big or small! He was multi talented and shared those talents with his son.

Dad’s career was interesting and varied. He owned a number of businesses in the early years including a hardware store, a gas station with repair shop as well as a trucking/logging operation on the side, and a motel! Eventually he worked for many years in management for insurance companies. He even spent a few years as a realtor! He earned the respect of everyone who knew him.

A memorial will be to follow and details will be given in this newspaper soon. Thank you to everyone who touched his life, we will all miss him greatly.
