PORTER, Marjorie Joan Dawn

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend Joan Porter. Joan passed away peacefully after a short illness. She was a resident of Keeping House where she was very happy. She was predeceased by her husband Doug in 1983. In earlier years, Joan was an active volunteer with Court Watchers, Catering Commitee at St. Paul’s Church and helped form the Nanaimo Stroke Club which she ran for many years, counselling and helping the families. Left to mourn her passing are her friends and caregivers, Dorothy, Lois and Cathy, along with numerous other good and caring friends whom she cherished. We wish to thank Dr. Petreman, Marie King and the staff at Dufferin Rehab for their kindness to Joan. No service by Joan’s request. Donations can be made in her memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
