Marjorie Irene Taylor

November 26, 1922 to January 16, 2009

Marjorie died peacefully at Nanaimo Seniors' Village on January 16, 2009. Known and loved by many as "Auntie" she is predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years. John, and her brother Reg Patterson.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Marjorie Patterson and her three brothers-in-law, Frank, Ross and Warren Taylor and their families.

Marjorie was a very loving and gracious woman who will be fondly remembered for her beautiful smile, love of art, music, fashion and for making the world's best butter tarts and Nanaimo bars.

Although Marjorie and John did not have children of their own, their unconditional love and commitment to family has left a legacy for those closest to them. Marjorie will be deeply missed by her niece Patricia Patterson, grand nieces Melanie Murray, Michelle Miko and Nicole Marsh, along with Nicole's husband, Shawn. She will also be dearly missed by Mary and Jim Hackett and their three sons, Geoffrey, Christopher and Daniel.

Heartfelt thanks are extended to all of the dedicated staff at the Nanaimo Seniors' Village who cared for Marjorie during the last four and one half years. A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the Inn on Long Lake, 4700 Island Highway in Nanaimo. A reception will follow at the Hackett's home, 440 Sealion Place, also in Nanaimo.
