1921-2020 ~ Sadly, Marjorie passed away peacefully during the early hours of Sept. 9, 2020 at Eden Gardens in Nanaimo. She had been a resident there since January 2019 after living in Deerwood Estates for 25 years.
Being an early resident of Deerwood, Marjorie became acquainted with everyone and enjoyed their good friendship. She shared 18 of those years with her loving partner, Allan Martin.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husbands Allan Beaumont and Doug O'Neill. She is survived by sons Ed (Jackie), their sons Paul and John (Kim) and their families; Brian (Elvie) his family Penny, Jeff, Steven and Amanda and her great grandson, Lincoln; stepson Bill (Melody) O'Neill, sons Jade, Kevin and families and Bill's son Brian all of Courtenay, BC. Also surviving her are her brother, Allan, brother-in-law Ken Barnett and their families in Ontario.
Of special note is Glen Dike who as a teenager, became a trusted helper and friend when Marjorie operated a dog boarding kennel after the death of husband, Allan in Ontario. This was following the time she raised Beagle show dogs and Bomber was chosen Canadian Champion one year.
As a result, Marjorie was presented with the Trophy and Ribbons by Madame Vanier, wife of Canada's Governor General.
As a forever dog lover, in later years she had Chi-Chi and KD which she trained to be superb performers in the Nanaimo Kennel Club agility class. Dogs were her life and joy.
Special thanks to Doug and Noreen Martin for making Marjorie part of their family.
Interments took place at Memorial Gardens in Nanaimo, BC.
Donations in Marjorie's name may be made to the Nanaimo SPCA.
"Here's to you, Marj, with a rye and ginger."
