July 13, 2009

ROSSNER, Marion

Passed away July 13, 2009 at Cowichan District Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born June 5, 1929 in Brandon Manitoba, she is survived by sons Clarence Phillip (Sherril), and Thomas (Janina); daughter Susan; grandchildren Joseph, Rhylee, and Richard; step-grandchildren Sasha and Melanie (Jeff); and great-grandchildren Ethan, Isabella and Tiana. She also leaves behind sisters Natalie, Violet, Sonia, Diane, and brother Ronnie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marion had a love for piano music, animals, artwork, and writing humorous stories of her childhood in the prairies, as she was an active member of the Ladysmith Writer's Group. She will be sadly missed.

Marion is predeceased by her husband Clarence who passed away in October 2001. Thankfully she is finally at peace with Clarence in Heaven, probably watching the Vancouver Canucks score.

Special thanks to the staff of Ladysmith, Vancouver General, Nanaimo, and Cowichan Valley hospitals, and the Ladysmith home care and health nurses.

A memorial service was held at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church in Cobble Hill on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 750 Hillside Ave., Victoria, BC, V8T 1Z4.
