Margaret Vopicka
Passed away peacefully, with family and a dear friend at her side, at Kiwanis Lodge in Nanaimo, BC on March 23, 2011. Margaret was born in Walthamstow, England on October 7, 1920 and moved to Canada in 1946. Margaret is predeceased by her parents; sister, Wynn along with Hank Philippsen; Peter Dyck; and her beloved husband, Joseph Vopicka.
Margaret lived a full and busy life - previously as a nurse in her working career then extensively volunteered for many organizations which benefited from her enthusiasm and knowledge.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Margaret Anderson (Alex); granddaughter, Monica Rieger (Darrell); grandson, Scott Anderson (Lily); and great-grandson, Cory Anderson.
Funeral services to be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Nanaimo, BC, on April 15, 2011 at 11:00am with reception to follow. Flowers gratefully declined; however, donations to the Hospice Society and/or the Catholic Women’s League would be appreciated.
