Passed away with her children by her side.
Born in Taber Alberta. She is predeceased by her parents Mary Taylor (Brand) and Pearson Halliday Carr, her siblings Jack, Jessie, Bill, her first husband Russell Carruthers, her love Lester Campbell Stobo, three sons Ronald, Raymond, Lawrence. Surviving is Mary Ellen Maltesen (Jan) and Robert Stobo (Kathy), grandchildren Kris, Crystal, Michelle, Robert, Emily and 5 great grandchildren. Step children Robin Stobo, Gerald Stobo Liz Peterman, 8 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mom lived a long healthy active life of service to her family and community in Calgary and Nanaimo. St. Paul’s choir and altar guild, Legion Branch 256, 10, 257 Ladies Auxiliary, “sewing club’ of friends, Calorie Counters, Sweet Adelines choir, Farquar St. handicapped society, Bowling, Willow Park card group.
She was the glue that held our family together, the kettle was always on for “a cuppa.”
Arrangements by First Memorial. Service at St. Paul’s Anglican Wednesday 2:00 p.m.
